Troubleshoot complex manufacturing problems and follow issues to resolve. Be responsible for equipment related to the manufacturing process. Use substantial independent judgment in complex or unusual situations. Train others and assign work to a small group of employees. Analyze and implement product or machinery designs for the best method for manufacturing processes. Propose and evaluate the processes for equipment in assigned area. Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned area. Provide technical support for specific plant operations. Interact on a regular basis with design, product and manufacturing engineering staffs. Provide direction to engineering support group and vendors. Evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipment. Handle engineering projects with plants and Manufacturing Engineering Staffs.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Five years of experience in job offered or related position. Must also have experience with NX surface creation, surface compensation including class -A- surface; experience with die designs and die function; experience with diagnosing formability issues and resolving them; experience with material properties, stresses, strains, thinning; experience with Die Layout for draw, trim, and flange dies; experience with creating NC prep data for CAM programmers; and experience with AutoForm, UG NX, Tebis, GOM, Microsoft Office
